This Taipei apartment, measuring just 17.6 square meters, is small even for a single person with minimal needs. Formerly a piano studio, the space has a 3.4-meter-high ceiling, enough room to create a mezzanine level. Studio A Little Design, headed by architect Szumin Wang, recently revamped this micro apartment. The project presented an added challenge, as concrete beams run through the space, complicating the organization of the rooms. Nevertheless, the architect devised an impressive plan.

The original structure of the apartment was poorly designed. Consequently, changes were necessary. The bathroom was excessively large for the apartment’s overall proportions, and the kitchen was too small to accommodate a fridge.
