Nautilus II is a response to the success of the Nautilus Table. It’s the second edition of the table designed by Marc Fish and it’s a highly artistic piece of furniture. Originally, the table was an experimental design, created using modern computer-aided technology and innovative construction techniques.

The result is a simple yet stylish piece of furniture.

When viewed from above, the table resembles a shell. When viewed from below, it reveals a contrast of colors from various types of wood. However, not visible from any angle is that the table was crafted with over 4000 pieces of walnut and sycamore veneer layered to create the desired shape.

This resulted in the logarithmic spiral found in the Nautilus shell.

The table’s shape approaches perfection. The Nautilus shell’s proportions remain constant despite its size. This fact is an inspiring source for the designer who seeks to recreate nature’s perfection. The table meticulously reproduces the shell’s texture, with hand-carved fluted growth patterns.

The transparent glass top mirrors the shell’s delicate lines.
