Modern House in Israel: A Personal Museum
Every home is unique, designed to suit its owner’s style, and some are more customized than others. This residence from Ra’anana, Israel, serves as a prime example. It functions not only as a house but also as a museum.
Anderman Architects designed it in 2017 for a client with an extensive art collection.
The architects faced a challenge to create a functional and practical layout while displaying artwork. The focus is on balancing the house’s architecture and the art.
Although the planning and execution of the project were slow, it was worth it. Achieving the balance between architecture and interior decor wasn’t easy but the designers had the perfect solution. They chose to use rough and bare materials throughout the house to allow the focus on the owner’s art collection and highlight design elements.
Concrete, steel, and rusty tin give the house character. Everywhere you look there’s something quirky to see on a simple and neutral backdrop.
