A Modern Japanese House by Studio Synapse

This beautiful example of modern architecture was designed by Japanese firm Studio Synapse. It’s a contemporary residence located in Grunma, Japan. The project, called ‘house in midori – ori no ie’, involved constructing a single-storey private residence.

The house is situated on a spacious plot surrounded by nature. To maximize this feature, the architects designed a large terrace to the front, perfect for enjoying the views. They also incorporated multiple access points to the house for convenience.

The terrace is located on the south area.

The residence has a simple and practical design with a distinctive characteristic of a single-sloping roof lifted up to the southwest corner. The roof, black and juxtaposed with a wooden terrace, complements the interior. Inside, large windows create views towards a central space, which is illuminated by a skylight.

Additionally, each room has its own separate entrance, enhancing the functionality of the design. The overall design showcases uniformity and a continuous look that seamlessly brings everything together.
