A Splendid House In London With Curved Glass Walls And A Beautiful Garden
The London house is atypical. It has a nice location on a secluded site without exposure to neighboring structures or the street. Architecture studio Eldridge London designed this unique and special project.
The house was designed to be open to its surroundings, which is expected given the location and topography. However, the team came up with a completely unexpected design for this project.
The house has a contemporary and futuristic aesthetic, with curved volumes, glass walls, and floating sections. The team also designed the landscape and outdoor areas in the same way to create an immersive experience. The house is open to the garden and rear section of the site, with a glazed ground floor area that curves in an oval shape to maximize the view.
Nature and architecture complement each other in this memorable design.
This home is conventional in many aspects. It features a large backyard and a beautiful garden with greenery, flowers, trees, decorative water features, and a shed. The design of these elements is what makes this project interesting and inspiring.
The main living areas are located on the ground floor and include a sunken sitting area with a curved sectional facing the garden and a minimalistic kitchen with a raised island platform.
The entire first floor is solely for the master bedroom, connected to the other floors by a spiral staircase enclosed in a concrete cylindrical space. Additionally, there’s a guest bedroom at the back of the ground floor, along with a home gym that has outdoor access. The first floor appears to float, detached from the main volume and supported by pillars, resulting in a large terrace surrounded by a rooftop garden.
