A Stunning Bay House Nestled In A Forest Clearing

Beautiful views and spectacular landscapes inspire architects and designers to capture these marvels of nature in their creations. The Peconic House is a prime example of this inspiration. Situated on a gorgeous piece of land in Hampton Bays, US, the site offers a breathtaking view of the Peconic Bay and boasts a beautiful topography.

The client’s vision was to create a multi-generational family retreat that would harmonize with the surroundings and minimize its ecological impact. Mapos Architects successfully transformed this vision into a reality.

The existing fauna was preserved. A 70-foot sycamore tree near the center of the meadow was particularly important. The house was designed to preserve the tree’s sun exposure, making it a focal point for the site. Additionally, the house has a green roof with native meadow grasses, blending it seamlessly. A terrace, half the size of the floor plan, sits parallel to the house and includes an infinity edge lap pool.

These elements, along with a simple interior design and carefully-selected materials, create a peaceful and welcoming retreat.
